Vladimir Ivanov - Skateboarding

In this week's feature we cover Vladimir Ivanov. Vladi has been an avid skater since he was 14 years old and is an extremely positive and radiant person. Read about his journey and get infected by his passion!

What motivated you to start? Is there anyone you look up to?

At first, I was shocked that the board can flip! After seeing that, I really wanted to learn how to do it, but in the process, I fell in love with skateboarding. There is a lot of good skaters but one of my favorite is Paul Rodriguez

What challenges have you faced so far?

There are a lot of challenges when we talk about street skateboarding, such as people, spots, weather, injuries, etc. I faced all of them throughout the years on the board, but there is nothing that can stop you when you know the taste of victory!

Did you have to make any sacrifices along the way?

There are times when you have to sacrifice a lot, definitely. On the other hand, when you have a family, for example, you often have to sacrifice skateboarding.

How do you find fulfilment and what keeps you going?

Just having fun, skateboarding with friends, often fills me with joy and gives me a fresh perspective on why I do it.

What are your goals?

My goals are to have fun and to inspire the young generation to be real, to show love to one another and to show how important it is to build bridges.

Any current projects you'd like to share?

There are a few projects, one of them is the new video of Amnesia Skateshop. I'm really excited about that one!

What tips would you give someone who is just starting in your field?

Just have fun and everything else will come in place. A good skateboarding setup is also important if you want to have a good experience.

Have there been any useful tools that have helped you along the way?

Yes! I watch tons of skateboarding videos. That helps you a lot to visualize the tricks and the moves.

And any useful resources?

Skateboarding magazines are a good investment, also YouTube tricks and tips videos.

Where can we find you on the internet/social media?

I am most active in Instagram - @vladimir.ivanov.g.b
