Are you crazy for cycling with your work shirt on?
Dear Reader,
Today I discovered something that was strange to me in nature. I didn't see this as a phenomenon, but rather a fad.
Cyclist usage has by 18% since 2022 in peak time periods[1]
It’s only increasing from there. I remember about five years ago thinking that this would be a great idea to ride into work. Heck, my previous boss told me he sacrificed two and half times his previous salary as a director just so he could live closer to his workplace. And by that, I mean bike riding into work in lieu of driving a vehicle.
If someone is willing to give up over 60% of their current salary just to ride a bike to work, then surely it is worth undertaking. I also notice many of these kinds of people who work in capital cities.
Well let's look at some of the advantages: It’s great exercise, it's a form of free transport, enjoyment of the outdoor scenery, etc. Those are only a few of the benefits. I’m only new to the world of cycling so I'm sure there's a laundry list of benefits.
I decided to join this movement, and I'm not alone in this too. I don't work too far away so sweating in my shirt wasn’t a problem, but there were two issues I was facing.
1. MY SHIRT WOULD STRETCH
2. MY SHIRT WOULD WRINKLE
I could’ve worn maybe a gym shirt but then I'D SWEAT TOO MUCH AND WOULD NEED TO TAKE A SHOWER JUST FOR A THREE MINUTE BIKE RIDE.
So that was an issue. I’d add more time to my community, when all I really wanted to do was take less time.
My DULO. shirt solved this problem, not only was it sweat resistant.
MY DULO. SHIRT WAS WRINKLE RESISTANT AND BREATHABLE
After jumping off the bike, I just felt like I didn't need to do anything but work.
No sweat, no wrinkles, no shower required. And no apologies.
I commenced my work after locking my bike up, and that was my Monday morning. It’s still summer down here in Australia too.
Take care.
The DULO. Team
